Dosage of CBD oil for Dogs
To find the perfect dosage for your dog, we offer our CBD oils for small, medium and large dogs based on the following weight:
To determine the perfect dosage for your dog, we have specially formulated CBD oils available for small, medium and large dogs. The dosage is based on the weight of your furry friend. Below are dosage guidelines:
1. For small dogs (up to 10 kg): Start with a low dose, 0.4-0.8 ml spread throughout the day. After a week, you can adjust the dose based on the effect on your dog.
2. For medium dogs (10 kg - 25 kg): Start with a low dose, 0.8-0.10 ml spread over the day. After a week, you can adjust the dose based on the effect on your dog.
3. For large dogs (25 kg and over): Start with a low dose, 0.8-0.10 ml spread over the day. After a week, you can adjust the dose based on the effect on your dog.
What is CBD used for in dogs?
Designed specifically for dogs, our CBD products harness the healing properties of cannabidiol (CBD) oil from the hemp plant, which has been used by humans for thousands of years to improve health and relieve pain.
Early studies¹ have shown that CBD can help with a range of conditions, including: digestive anxiety, joint problems, chronic pain, allergies and skin conditions.
How does CBD work in dogs?
Since all animals have an endocannabinoid system (ECS), all types of animals could use CBD products and reap the benefits³.
Endocannabinoids send signals to receptors throughout the body to release hormones that help people and pets better cope with outside events, such as injuries and stress.
CB receptors are responsible for releasing hormones that keep our bodies in homeostasis or balance. The two we are currently aware of are CB1, found primarily in the brain and central nervous system, and CB2, found primarily in the liver and immune system.³
CBD is a phyto-cannabinoid that supports the function of our endocannbinoids.
CBD dosage for dogs
Research has shown that the recommended starting dose for most dogs is about 1 to 2 mg of CBD per kilogram of weight.
We recommend that owners give their dog a low starting dose of about 0.25 mg per 1 kg of weight and then increase it to an average dose of 0.5 mg per kg after two days, observing how the dog feels.
However, if your dog is experiencing illness or pain, we recommend increasing the dose to the full dose (see table below).

There are a number of ways to give your pet CBD.CBD dog treats with a low CBD strength can be a good way to keep them up, or if they have less of an appetite, you can drip our CBD oils for dogs directly into their mouths.
Preferably, the drops are placed under the tongue, where they can be quickly absorbed by the oral mucosa. This is called sublingual ingestion (literally, “under the tongue”) and can be safely dosed with the free dosing syringe.
Sublingual ingestion is effective in terms of bioavailability. The percentage of each dose that is absorbed is generally higher than with oral intake and is absorbed into the bloodstream within 15 minutes.
The easiest way to administer sublingually is to turn in the same direction as your dog and hold the head with one hand while lifting the lip with the thumb.
With the other hand, gently insert the provided syringe into the corner of the mouth (through which the dog will likely lick and chew) and use this opportunity to deliver the oil into the space under the tongue.
Syringes are included with all of our CBD oils.
