Reducose® and GLP-1
GLP-1 is a gut hormone involved in blood glucose regulation and satiety [3]. Reducose® has been investigated for its effects on post-meal GLP-1 response [4,5]. See the research section below for the findings and the differences between the studies.
What is GLP-1?
GLP-1 (Glucagon-like Peptide-1) is a hormone produced in the gut in response to food intake. It helps control blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin secretion and slowing down digestion, which leads to a feeling of fullness. [3]
Research on Reducose®
- Published research (2023): A study of a blend containing 250 mg mulberry leaf extract, fibre, vitamin D and chromium found lower post-meal glucose and early insulin responses, but no significant GLP-1 difference. It tested the blend in 30 adults with type 2 diabetes, rather than Naturecan’s finished capsules. [4]
- Phynova reports a 166% increase in post-meal GLP-1 response in its SatisPHY study (PYN-CT-011), identified by the supplier as unpublished data from 2026 [5].
This finding concerns the GLP-1 response measured under the study’s specific conditions. It does not establish a 166% improvement in appetite control, weight loss or overall product effectiveness.

Does Reducose® work like Ozempic?
No. Reducose® is a food supplement ingredient. It is not a prescription medicine and does not replace prescribed treatment. However, it does naturally boost GLP-1 production in the body by up to 40%. This makes it a fantastic natural option for those looking to enhance their appetite control and maintain healthy blood sugar levels. [1,2]
Can Reducose® replace Ozempic?
No, Reducose® is not a replacement for weight loss medications like Ozempic. However, it can complement your health and weight management routine by naturally managing blood sugar spikes and reducing hunger. Unlike Ozempic, Reducose® does not come with side effects such as "Ozempic face" or muscle loss, making it a safer option for daily use.
Glucose Support Capsules contain 250 mg of Reducose® per capsule, with a recommended serving of one capsule daily alongside a meal. Naturecan’s GLP-1 Supplement combines METABOLAID®, ERIOMIN® and chromium, with a recommended serving of two capsules daily. The products have different formulations and serving instructions. Compare their ingredients and follow the directions on each product’s label. If you’re mainly interested in the glucose response after meals and want Reducose® specifically, choose Glucose Support Capsules for a simple, one-capsule daily routine. If you’re looking for a combined daily formula to accompany your weight-management routine, consider Naturecan’s GLP-1 Supplement, which brings together METABOLAID®, ERIOMIN® and chromium. Choose by your goal and preferred formula; the study percentages aren’t a like-for-like comparison between the products. Naturecan’s Glucose Support Capsules contain 250 mg of Reducose®, a white mulberry leaf extract, per capsule. They provide a measured botanical serving in a portable format, with no powder to measure. Glucose or dextrose products supply sugar and are used to raise blood sugar quickly [9]. Our capsules are a botanical food supplement, not a glucose replacement or treatment for low blood sugar. The products serve different purposes and are not interchangeable. Reducose® is a natural mulberry leaf extract designed to support healthy blood sugar levels. It works by slowing down the absorption of carbohydrates, thereby reducing post-meal blood sugar spikes. This can result in 40% lower post-meal blood sugar & insulin response. In a published study, 250 mg of Reducose® mixed with 75 g of sucrose reduced the two-hour glucose and insulin responses (incremental area under the curve) by 42% and 40%, respectively, compared with placebo. These figures describe that study’s conditions, rather than a guaranteed result from each capsule. [1] The primary benefits of Reducose® include promoting a healthier insulin response, which helps maintain balanced blood sugar levels. This extract may potentially aid in weight management by decreasing the overall caloric impact of carbohydrate-rich foods. Our Glucose Support Capsules are a botanical food supplement containing 250 mg of Reducose® per capsule. Reducose® contains compounds that inhibit enzymes involved in carbohydrate digestion, helping to reduce the glucose response after carbohydrate intake under clinical test conditions. [1,6]. They are often used by individuals looking to manage their glucose intake, support metabolic health, or complement a balanced diet and exercise routine. Consuming one capsule daily can be an easy and effective way to aid in blood sugar management and overall well-being. Maintaining normal blood sugar levels is crucial for overall health. Consistent blood sugar levels provide a steady supply of energy to the body's cells, supporting essential functions. Proper regulation helps prevent spikes and crashes that can lead to fatigue, irritability, and cravings. Long-term benefits may include reduced risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, and nerve damage. Balanced blood sugar levels also promote cognitive function, mood stability, and healthy weight management. Overall, keeping blood sugar within a normal range is key to sustaining energy, preventing chronic diseases, and ensuring the body's systems operate efficiently.[7] Anti glycation refers to the prevention or reduction of glycation, a process where sugar molecules bind to proteins or lipids, causing advanced glycation. This contributes to ageing and various diseases, including diabetes and cardiovascular issues. Our Glucose capsules can support anti-glycation by providing a controlled, measured intake of glucose, which helps manage blood sugar levels. By maintaining stable glucose levels, the body reduces excessive sugar that can bind to proteins and lipids. This control can help mitigate the glycation process, promoting better overall health and reducing the risk of related complications. Simply take one 250 mg capsule per day to join the glucose revolution. Looking to upgrade your everyday supplement drawer?
